LAY IT ON US.
We know you’ve got questions. We’ve rounded up some of our favorites below — see if one fits the bill.
(Did we miss your question? Give us a ring.)
Do you have food?
Beer has food value, is that enough? But seriously, yes we’ve got food.
IN NELSON we offer basic beer snacks – think soft pretzels, pepperoni sticks, and other nibbles that we source as locally as possible.
At any time you are more than welcome to bring in takeout from wherever you feel like, however, we would kindly ask that you make an effort to clean up after yourself when you do bring in your own food.
IN OSOYOOS we offer a light lunch menu featuring sandwiches made by our friends at 15 Park Bistro (the restaurant in the Watermark Beach Resort) These are hearty sammys served with a side of pickles or hardbite chips. We’ve also got a selection of more snack-y things if you’re just looking for a quick nibble.
Finally, if you do want to find a restaurant for a complete meal, the bar staff will happily suggest their favourite places where our beer is also served.
Do you fill other breweries’ growlers?
Yes, provided they are the 1L or 2L volumes. Make sure they’re clean and try your best to remember your lid!
Can kids come in?
They sure can. We love well-behaved kids who are happy to sit and watch mom and/or dad have a pint. We have a small selection of sodas or juice for them, too.
Do you have a patio?
YES! we have a patio during the warmer months, mid-April to mid-October.
IN NELSON:
If you’d like a seat on the patio, please see the bartender first to find out if there is any free space. If not we’ll put you on the waiting list to head outside.
Heads up, due to our odd-ball provincial liquor serving rules regarding patios that are not directly connected to the building (ours is across the city sidewalk), a Backroads server MUST carry your beer to the patio. So please, please do not carry your beer out to the patio on your own or vice versa.
IN OSOYOOS:
We have 2 large patios, seating is first come/first served. The patios are directly connected to the taproom, so you are free to walk between the patio and inside with your beer. Just order at the bar and grab a seat wherever!
Are dogs allowed inside or on the patio?
Dogs are welcome on the patio, but you must have them under control and ensure their leash is not a tripping hazard for staff or other patrons. Dogs are not permitted inside the tasting room.
Do you have something other than beer?
I know, I know, who comes to a brewery and orders something other than beer? But it happens, so we do keep selection of BC made cider, wine, and hard seltzers for those that can’t have or don’t want beer. If alcohol isn’t your thing, or you’ve got some minors with your group, we also have locally made kombucha, craft sodas, and sparkling water.
Do you take reservations?
We’re a first-come, first-served kinda place. But there’s plenty of room at our communal tables so you can squeeze in with strangers and enjoy a fantastic time!
Do you host private events?
We will occasionally host private events. Please email info@backroadsbrewing.com discuss dates, times, pricing, etc.
